Ballet I Curriculum
Ballet I Curriculum is designed to provide a strong foundation in the basics of ballet technique and terminology to the beginning student. Since students may begin ballet training at different ages and levels of maturity, some may progress faster than others and require more challenge provided by a higher level. Likewise, some students may not obtain a full grasp of the skills in this curriculum. Instructors should use their professional discretion when determining if a student is ready to progress to the next level, or if it would be beneficial to repeat Ballet I.
The worksheets included in this curriculum are for enhanced learning and reinforcement of the terminology used in a standard ballet class. Students who have a full understanding of the French words and phrases will, as a result, have a better comprehension of ballet technique.
Welcome to Ballet Flash Cards

Movement Cards
Movement cards help students learn the difference between movement that travels and movement that stays in place. Locomotor & Non-Locomotor words are different colors to help distinguish between the two. It is recommended that cards are printed on sturdy paper and laminated for many sessions of movement fun.
Seven Movements of Dance
Seven basic movements are universal to all styles of dance. This simple one-page hand-out is a great reference for students of all ages & levels. Movements are arranged on the page along with a pronunciation guide for the French words, and a brief definition for each. Two additional pages provide a means for testing students' knowledge & understanding of the Seven Basic Movements.
